What's on my workdesk WEDNESDAY

It's been a long week, hubby went into hospital was all ready waiting for his turn to have his operation, his surgeon came to see him as he knew he had been really apprehensive over having to have it especially with a general anesthetic.
Supposedly his surgeon told him if he wasn't 100% on board with having it done he wouldn't do it, so yes he bolted, was not impressed when I heard the duty driver was bringing him home...
And he was on send to Coventry list for the whole weekend, grrrr this man of mine is a chicken.....
So I have been immersing myself in my crafting table is semi clear but I think this is as good as it gets for now....

Got some new spellbinders dies today so I am going to have a play with those and work on a challenge layout, begin a prize ribbon rosette and work on another plastic soda bottle ornament....
Thanks for stopping by and saying hi I sure appreciate it and I look forward to stopping by your blog and saying hi....

PS I haven't worked with spellbinders dies before are there any do and don't s I should know?
And what kind of materials can I use with these?

This afternoon I have been having a play with one of the new spellbinders dies, I'm practising making prize ribbons so this is a work in progress I need to go shopping for more trims and bits and pieces to adorn it....

Oh I love my Spellbinders. I have only used papaer in them, as I haven't had them but a month or so. Play with them on some scrap things and see what they will do.

Firstly may I say what a Beautiful blog... I have joined you as a follower, your makes are beautiful...
Now back to the desk..

Your have a busy desk going on and I adore spellbinders... just always keep the raised edge in touch with the card stock and not the plastic of your die cutting machine ( I use a big shot) so if your put the paper down first then raised area on top, or the other way is die first with raised are upwards the paper on top... I am causing more confusion I expect... Hope it helps.. Hugs May x x x#8

Have fun playing spellbinders are great for thin card and paper and sometimes you can put a thin plastic through too (like a packaging box plastic). Thanks for sharing - Sunshine Girl No. 68

I love my Spellbinders! I learned that you can cut paper and some card stocks with them but they don't recommend heavy card stock. I didn't know how to get the embossed look until a friend told me to cut it out with the die facing up and turn in upside down and run it through again to emboss. Have a great week. Vickie #73

What a creative looking desk ...I think you are having loads of fun.
I dont use mine as much as I should ...best tip ...read the instructons. I find it best for light card down to scrapping paper ...I tried material with no success yet I know others do. ...Have fun#9

You have so many yummy things on your desk. I love Spellbinders and find them easier and less fiddly than most dies.
The story of DH made me smile, reminded me of a friend who's DH had a bad knee and refused point blank to go to the dr. When the knee finally gave out on him while working in the garage, she simply phoned an ambulance and explained that it was not life threatening at all, but if they had time, and if there were no other really sick people to take care of, would they please come and pick up a stubborn mule of a man who refuses to go to the docter. The paramedic just laughed and came. DH went with them without any struggle and the paramedic told my friend she would be surprised at how many stubborn old men they have to fetch and take to hospital. Always makes me laugh when I think of that story.
Happy WOYWW!

Lovely flower! I really need to get a new machine now my GC dies a horrible death. I thought having an electronic machine would mean never needing dies, but I end up using them more than I expected. And DH? Men! :)

Had to laugh at your hubby, made me think of him running down the road with his surgical gown flapping in the breeze!!! Love the rosette, very pretty. I've only used my dies with paper too so can't offer any advice, maybe have a careful play and see what you come up with.

The spellbinders are great on paper and card, though I have also used them on thin felt very successfully. Tell your hubby, there's no need to fear - sure he'll be asleep and all will be over when he wakes up. The surgeon asked me was I scared last Fridy and I said 'No - why should I be?' he laughed and said Oh, no no no!

Sorry I can't help with the dies...I JUST got a Big Shot and haven't gotten any dies to play with yet. I hope you have lots of fun though!
